BoOKMARKED 2025

Reading is a private act. In libraries and cafes we read alongside one another. Books delight us, make us laugh out loud, shock us, and make us cry. Books also change us, and the ways we see the world. Forever. Book Marked is an invitation to share some of our deeper reading experiences. The work is a site-specific, audience participatory performance that invites audience members to meet in the library of famous Finnish poet. Participants are asked to bring along a book or poem that has lasting significance for them across time. Artist Katerina Kokkinos-Kennedy serves tea, and leads a conversation focused on our collective passion for literature – its words, ideas, imagery and sensuality. Bookmarked premiered in Runokuu Festivaali.
