Hotel Obscura 2016
Hotel Obscura is an immersive site specific and audience participatory work which explores hotels as performance spaces and themes such as travel, and identity. Hotel Obscura was created and curated by Triage’s artistic director Katerina Kokkinos-Kennedy in five countries: Australia, Austria, France, Germany, and Greece (2014-2016). The project was funded by Creative Europe, Creative Australia, Creative Victoria, Arts House, and the Besen Foundation. Across three years Triage collaborated with eight arts organisations to develop ambitious, immersive, festival-based live art performance events in Berlin, Athens, Marseille, Vienna, Linz, Tours and Melbourne.

What is most satisfying about Hotel Obscura is the rhythm and composition of the experience of the performance, as a whole. There are no lulls, no blips. And nowhere does the confected mystery of the piece fade or falter. The work carries you smoothly in its shadowy dream across the city and up 48 floors.
